What is Mid-Week Meal Prep?
Mid-Week Meal Prep is typically Wednesday or Thursday because the meals that are prepped on Sunday only last for 3-4 days.
There is a lot of conversation online about meals staying fresh and not wanting to eat the same thing all week.
There are a couple main reasons for Mid-Week Meal Prepping:
- You do not want to be eating fish, that was prepared on Sunday, towards the end of the week. Fish should only be stored and eaten within 3 days (based on the FDA storage guidelines)
- If you end up eating more meals early on in the week and need to have restock your fridge for the rest of the week. Hey, life happens!
- You want to switch up your menu. You can make 3 days worth of meals on Sunday and 3 more days of meals on Wednesday
All that being said, try to avoid drive-thru urges and packaged food cravings this week by preparing nutritious lunches ahead of time!
